I work with couples and individuals who may be in relationship crisis or distress, or who perhaps are looking to make changes in their lives, together or apart.
My approach is integrative but orientated towards psychodynamic theories and family systems theory – much of that is about how our childhood development, upbringing and life experiences can impact on the way we form, and behave in, our intimate adult relationships.
I have a broad experience of working with a diverse range of people, including more vulnerable clients. I believe that counselling should provide a safe and secure place where people are accepted and not judged, but sometimes gently challenged, facilitating and enabling the safe exploration of the issues they bring.
In the world today people have high expectations of relationships and partnerships, and when they break down it can be very hard to understand the reasons. Life can be very pressured for many people. Counselling is about you as the client, or clients, choosing to come into that space to examine your lives.
I work predominantly in Inverness and I offer one hour, face-to-face sessions, which cost £45 for Individuals and £50 for couples.
