*I am currently taking a break from Practice and therefore not taking on new clients at this time*
Hello, my name is Fiona and I am an experienced Relate Couple and Individual Counsellor. In addition to my Diploma in Relationship Counselling I also hold a diploma in Counselling Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.
As a Counsellor I am trained to provide additional support during times of difficulty. There are many reasons why relationships break down, perhaps you have stopped talking or your attempts at communicating always ends the same, with neither of you feeling heard. Other relationship problems can include issues with money, sex, addiction, work, affairs, lack of trust, a third party or family issues. As a Couple Counsellor I can offer support and a non-judgemental space to explore these issues.
I use an ‘Integrative’ approach to counselling which means I draw on a range of therapies to best suit the needs of my clients.
I understand that counselling can feel daunting, however, if you are prepared to look closely and honestly at your relationship then the journey can be very rewarding. No two couples are the same and there is no such thing as a ‘normal relationship’ it’s about creating a relationship where both your needs are being met.
There is a popular belief that therapy is always serious and hard work, which at times it can be, but it can also be light hearted, enjoyable and fulfilling. It’s all about communication.
In addition to my CPCAB Diploma in Relationship Counselling I have a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Diploma in Sexual Abuse Counselling. I am a member of both BACP and Relationships Scotland.
Sessions are available in a relaxed and informal setting at my home on the Black Isle where I offer both afternoon and evening appointments. The first session lasts one and a half hours and subsequent sessions last for one hour. Each session costs £45 for an individual and £50 for a couple. You can come for one or as many sessions as you want, it is entirely up to you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
